This Privacy Policy explains how Blazemist collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you visit our website or contact us. It also explains your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Blazemist builds premium smart livestock monitoring systems and precision farming technology in Wageningen, Netherlands. This policy covers the Blazemist website and related inquiry handling. Product deployments on farms may have additional contractual privacy terms, depending on the integration scope.
2) Personal data we collect
We aim to collect only the personal data that is necessary to operate the website, respond to inquiries, and keep our services secure. Depending on how you interact with Blazemist, we may collect the following categories:
A) Data you provide directly
- Identity and contact data: full name, email address, phone number (optional).
- Business and farm context: farm type (for example dairy, beef, sheep, poultry), herd or flock size, desired system features, and other information you enter in a message field.
- Marketing consent preference: whether you opt in to receive product updates from Blazemist (optional).
B) Data collected automatically
- Technical identifiers: IP address, approximate location inferred from IP (country/region), device type, operating system, browser type, and language settings.
- Usage data: pages visited, time on page, referral source, clicks, and interaction events (where enabled).
- Cookie and similar technology data: cookie identifiers, consent status, and related settings.
- Server logs: timestamps, requested URLs, response codes, and security-related telemetry used to maintain availability and protect against abuse.
Blazemist does not intentionally collect special categories of personal data (such as health data about individuals). Our products relate to livestock monitoring and farm operations, but this Privacy Policy concerns website visitors and lead inquiries. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information in free-text fields.
3) How we collect personal data
Blazemist collects data through the following methods:
- Web forms: when you submit an inquiry on /contact/ or any other form embedded on our website.
- Email and phone communications: when you contact Blazemist directly via email or telephone using the details shown on the website.
- Cookies and similar technologies: when you accept analytics or marketing cookies (if enabled) via our cookie banner.
- Analytics tools: where enabled, we may use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site and to improve content and performance.
- Advertising measurement tools: where enabled and where you consent, we may use Meta Pixel to measure campaign effectiveness and improve relevance.
- Server and security logs: generated automatically by our hosting and security infrastructure to protect the site.

Blazemist processes personal data for the following purposes:

To receive and respond to questions about Blazemist products, provide quotations, schedule calls, and offer technical clarifications. This includes maintaining a record of correspondence so we can continue a conversation without asking you to repeat information.
Service delivery and account administration
Where you become a customer, to perform pre-contract steps, conclude and manage contracts, deliver products or services, handle commissioning support, and manage access credentials for relevant portals or documentation.
Website performance and analytics
To understand which pages are most helpful, detect broken journeys, and improve usability and content. Analytics data is used in aggregated form where possible.
Security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance
To protect the Blazemist website and infrastructure, prevent abuse (such as spam or automated scraping), and comply with applicable legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests by authorities.
Blazemist does not sell personal data. We do not use personal data to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance our interest in operating and securing the website and responding to business inquiries against your rights and freedoms. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests as described in the rights section below.
6) Data retention periods
Blazemist retains personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Our typical retention periods are:
- Inquiry form submissions and sales correspondence: up to 2 years from the last interaction, unless you become a customer or request deletion earlier.
- Customer contract records: retained for the duration of the contract and for the period required by applicable accounting and tax laws.
- Analytics data: typically 14 months (tool setting dependent), after which data is deleted or aggregated.
- Email marketing list: until you unsubscribe, plus up to 30 days to process and synchronize suppression records.
- Security logs: typically 6 to 12 months, unless needed longer to investigate incidents or to comply with legal obligations.
- Cookie consent record: stored in your browser via localStorage until you clear site data or we change the consent version key.
Retention may be shortened if you request deletion and no exception applies, or extended if required to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
8) International transfers
Blazemist is based in the Netherlands and primarily processes data within the European Economic Area (EEA). However, some service providers (for example analytics or email infrastructure) may process data outside the EEA.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, Blazemist will use appropriate safeguards, such as:
- European Commission adequacy decisions where applicable, or
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, and where required, supplemental measures based on transfer risk assessments.

If you are in the EU/EEA (or otherwise covered by GDPR), you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. Blazemist will respond without undue delay, and generally within one month, subject to lawful extensions for complex requests.

- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

11) Children’s privacy
The Blazemist website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. 12) Security measures
Blazemist uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Measures may include access controls, least-privilege permissions, transport encryption where appropriate, and monitoring for suspicious activity. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to reduce risk and to respond promptly to incidents.
